Five From The Ground is a gorgeous little antiques shop located in Kamakura. From old coffee mills and french blackboards to 8 mm film reels and toys, they have everything your vintage heart could desire. Perusing through their equally drool-worthy online shop reveals many treasures, one of them being these dainty wire sculptures by Masao Seki. So adorable. I want them all!

The Box Lounger

Gotta love this cozy design by Ivar Gestranius and Kevin Lahtinen. The Box Lounger may look like little more than a funky design with a retro feel but it’s actually quite functional. The inside is fitted with super-soft, comfy cushioning that also happens to be great at absorbing sounds, making it the perfect “mini-office” for making phone calls, working on a laptop, or just relaxing. Available in a variety of different colors, its square shape also makes a great room divider.

Pen Type-A

Brooklyn-based industrial designers Che-Wei Wang and Taylor Levy of CW&T have created a Kickstarter project for the production of their new minimal pen. Pen Type-A is a stainless steel replacement for the Hi-Tec-C’s cheap plastic casing.

The minimalist design has has a dime screw on one end to allow for easy ink cartridge replacement. Its shaft is a solid smooth surface with no branding, and just the right thickness and weight so it feels comfortable in your hand.

The pen slides slowly into its protective sleeve, which doubles as a ruler and includes a 0.3 Black Hi-Tec-C Cartridge. The pen will eventually sell for $99 (€69) but through Kickstarter, backers can get their hands on it for $50 (€35). It is already proving to be incredibly popular and I can see why. Certainly worth backing.

Not Your Mom’s Shelf

Designer Arthur Analt’s Shelf WOW was inspired by the Latvian ethnographic symbol “mara,” a representation of the love and safety given by a mother- and just like “mara,” WOW will cradle and keep all your personal belongings safe-n-sound! The shelf is bent from a single, specially cut aluminum sheet and powder coated in a number of brilliant colors.

Sacos de papel

Annett Bourquin and Kerstin Greve are designers from Lisbon, Portugal. Under the label of ANVE, they createobjects that take their time, and become more beautiful with life.

Their Sacos de papel bags are particularly interesting. Although the association with an ordinary brown paper bag is easily made (Sacos de papel even means paper bags), rolling it up is actually a beautifully lo-fi and valid way to close a bag.

And of course it also creates a handle out of nothing; love it.

昨天儿童节，蘑菇在新浪微博上分享了蘑菇网以前的一些儿童家居的设计，在这里向大家的参与互动表示感谢。今天又发现了一套儿童家具的设计，觉得非常的棒，充满了人性关怀。这是一个来自于美国纽约的设计项目Tools at Schools。
有人会问，什么是创新。我想这就是创新吧，不是空穴来风，而是根据人的实际需要的改良更新。
看设计，这是椅子的设计。亮点在于椅面后下方的收纳篮。平时不太用的文件夹，本子。可以暂时在这里放放。环保色的椅面，看起来很舒服。

这是桌子的设计。桌面整体往下倾，在这里方便读书与写字吧。桌面前方有一道凹槽，具体的作用，在下面的细节图上可以看出来。前方也有一些突起，可以防止文具等等的掉落。

凹槽，可以放书本，可以方便的供小朋友阅读。

也可以用来放一些铅笔，颜料什么的。而这部分的文具盒，也是可以根据实际情况调整的。

After 25 weeks, the fruits of this student labor have moved beyond the classroom laboratory, debuting at ICFF last week and moving on to the Museum of Arts and Design in November 2011.

Today we want to show you “more than a photo, but not quite a video”. Art works of artists duo: New York City-based fashion photographer Jamie Beck and visual designer Kevin Burg. They created amazing series of animated GIFs called “cinemagraphs”. They really raised the GIF animation to a new level. People on these cinemagraphs are smiling, wind is ruffling their hair… And the first that came to mind is magical photos from movies about Garry Potter. It seems like they will just step out the photo and ask you for a cup of coffee! Just take a look and you will surely enjoy cinemagraphs!
